U.S. wine exports to Canada have seen a dramatic decline in recent months, according to Jeremy Repanich of the Robb Report. In June 2025, exports were down 96.8% compared with June 2024. Similar sharp drops were recorded earlier in the year, with a 93.2% fall in April and a 97.2% decrease in May.
“The exports of U.S. wine to Canada are virtually down to zero, or they’re closing in on zero,” noted the executive director of the American Association of Wine Economists.
The article also points out that Canadian consumers could turn to alternatives during this period, with potential long-term implications for U.S. winemakers.
