According to Reuters, European and Indian trade negotiators met in New Delhi during the second week of September 2025 with the goal of concluding a free trade agreement by the end of the year.
Nearly half of the agreement’s chapters — including those on customs and intellectual property — have reportedly already been finalized. Key outstanding issues include broader access for UK exports of automobiles and alcoholic beverages to India, as well as concessions sought from New Delhi on agriculture and dairy products.
