As of July 2, 2025, Argentina has officially recognized Scotch Whisky with Geographical Indication (GI) status, marking the first time an international product has received such designation in the country.
This formal recognition grants Scotch Whisky specific legal protection in Argentina, acknowledging its geographic origin and traditional methods of production.
