Amendments to India’s alcohol beverage regulations will take effect on 01 January 2026

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare/Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) published amendments introducing new definitions of ready-to-drink (RTD) beverages, country liquor, honey wine (mead), and wine-based beverages, along with amendments adding requirements for fruit wines, craft beers, and RTDs. The amendments will take effect on 01 January 2026.
