On October 1, 2025, the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) between Australia and the United Arab Emirates officially entered into force.
On September 29, the Australian Prime Minister met with the President of the United Arab Emirates to celebrate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries. In a joint statement, the two leaders welcomed the agreement’s entry into force and reaffirmed their “shared commitment to a rules-based multilateral trading system, including the strengthening and reform of the World Trade Organization.”
