On 22 September 2023, the European Commission’s Standing Committee on Plants, Animals, Food and Feed forwarded draft regulations to member states, setting out the conditions for renewing approval of the use of glyphosate.
Glyphosate is an active substance used in Plant Protection Products (Ppps) to control plants, which means it's a herbicide.
The Commission aims to finalize its decision by 15 December 2023, the date on which current approval of the pesticide will expire.
