Research conducted by Geisenheim University reportedly found that approximately half of the wine trade believes consumers will accept alternatives to heavy glass bottles, but found “no signs of a mass switch-over.”

Complicating the situation, the actual shopping habits of consumers reportedly show that “price usually trumps ethics.”
