The European Union and Kenya marked the formal conclusion of trade negotiations on 19 June 2023 by signing the EU-Kenya Economic Partnership Agreement. The agreement will provide free access to the EU market by removing tariffs and quotas on all Kenyan exports of goods (except arms). Kenya will open its market partially and gradually to imports from the European Union. The agreement will be open to accession of the Eastern African Community (EAC) Partner States.
