A report prepared for Food Standards Australia New Zealand (the joint standards setting body) in September 2021 quantified the cost to the alcohol sector of potential future changes to labelling requirements – such as those recently proposed in Ireland. The cost model used four scenarios ranging from changing only a small number of words to changing the size and shape of labels. One of the scenarios related to the removal of text or information.
