After public consultation, the Scottish government has recommended a 50p MUP for alcohol beverage products. The MUP, which would come into effect in May, would raise the price of red wine to £4.69, a four-pack of 500ml lager cans to at least £4 and a 70cl bottle of whisky to at least £14.
