The Minister of Health says that an increase in excise duty on alcoholic beverages is under discussion, confirming that the French government might include such an increase in the social security budget for 2024.
The minister said he was in favour of maintaining the current 'behavioural' tax on alcohol 'as a minimum', adding that 'it will be seen whether this mechanism will be accelerated'.
