With the objective of ending single-use plastic bottles by 2040, France’s Secretary of State for Ecology reportedly said that France intends to establish a deposit on glass packaging program within the next two years, beginning first in 2024 with experimental drop-off points for empty glass packaging, while establishing washing facilities.
The Secretary reportedly also said a fund of 50 million euros would be used to encourage producers to use glass containers rather than disposable plastic ones.
