France: large area of Provence hit by hailstorm

Vineyards in Bandol, Flassans, Gonfaron, Le Luc, and Vidauban were hit by a hailstorm lasting 30 minutes, producing 10-15cm of cumulative hail.

Those vineyards in the core corridor may have suffered damages nearing 90%, and nearby vineyards may have lost approximately 20 percent.

Meteorologists have warned that more hail and thunderstorms may continue during the following week, calling conditions “an explosive cocktail.”
