The Scottish Retail Consortium has reportedly said that supermarkets may end online drink sales due to proposed “unworkable, unsustainable, and undeliverable” amendments to Scotland’s proposed Deposit Return Scheme that would require retailers to collect empty cans and bottles from the homes of their customers.
Implementation of the controversial program has already been delayed until March 2024.
