USA: new capacity ranges approved

Written by Redazione

TTB has issued this final rule. After careful consideration of the comments received to the public consultation, TTB has decided:

  •  not to eliminate the standards of fill for wine and spirits, to avoid a proliferation of sizes that will lead to consumer confusion and will harm to distributors and retailers by increasing  the number of SKU. It also prevents States enacting container size requirements, thus forcing wineries to adjust to 38 varying State Regulations.
  • to authorize specific standards of fill for which TTB received sufficient information to make a determination. For wine new sizes are 355 ml, 250 ml and 200 ml. For spirits 1,8 L, 900 ml, 720 ml, 700 ml.
