Wales Moves Ahead with Plans to Introduce a MUP Scheme: FIVS has reported on the increased consideration around the world of Minimum Unit Pricing (MUP) schemes. Welsh Authorities announced on 15 February 2019 plans to introduce a £0.50 MUP for alcohol beverages. The Welsh Government will now ask the National Assembly for Wales to approve the minimum unit price. On 20 February 2019, the United Kingdom notified  the World Trade Organisation about the draft regulation specifying the MUP for alcohol beverages. This measure has its origins in the Welsh National Assembly's approval of the “Public Health (Minimum Price for Alcohol) (Wales) Bill” in June 2018, which set the stage for the introduction of MUP for alcohol beverages in Wales
